Mr. McRae is survived by his wife, Ann Gwin McRae of Lexington; one son, Dr. John Murrell McRae, Jr. of Laurel; one daughter Mrs. James K. Child of Jackson; a brother, Ervin Hunter
McRae of Carthage: one sister, Mrs. John Downs of Lexington: and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22 from the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Andy Ray officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Pallbearers were Ed W. Hooker, Pat Barrett, Jr., Harold Hammett, Jr., I. R. King, Jack Yates and Henry Paris. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Moore, Wilburn Hooker, Eugene Herrman, Dr. Gordon Russell, Will Wilson, Herman Flowers, Pat Barrett Sr., Clarence Minyard, Lute Ellison, Harold Bowie and V. C. Fite.
The family has requested that memorials should be made to the First United Methodist Church.
