John Leonidas McRae
John Leonidas McRae, Civil Engineer/Consultant, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, at the age of 88, in Knoxville, Tennessee, of natural causes. Born in Acona, Mississippi, Holmes County, September 16, 1917, he was the son of the late James Wright McRae and Lota O'Bryant McRae. Mr. McRae, a resident of Vicksburg for over 50 years, is survived by his son, John M. McRae and wife, Sharon, of Knoxville, Tennessee and daughter, Margaret Murphree, and husband, Boyd, of Tallahassee, Florida, and six grandchildren. Mr. McRae's wife, Thelma, died in January, 2000.
Mr. McRae, a civil engineering graduate of Northwestern University, was Chief of the Bituminous Laboratory, U. S. Waterways Experiment Station (WES), for over a decade and served in other key positions as well during his career with WES. Mr. McRae was founder and CEO of Engineering Developments Company. He dedicated his professional life, over the last 40 years, to refinement and promotion of the Gyratory Testing Machine (GTM), a machine he invented for designing and testing bituminous pavement, for utilization in highway and airfield design. The GTM, accepted as part of the standards of the American Society of Testing Materials, has been sold in numerous U. S. states, as well as foreign countries. Mr. McRae was a Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Lon, as he was called by friends and family, was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church during all his life in Vicksburg and served often as a deacon. He was also a member of the Gideons.
Funeral services were held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg on Saturday, December 3, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. with burial at Cedar Hills Cemetery.

L.A. Goudelock
Services were held for Luther Alvie Goudelock, Sr. at 2:00 p.m. in the Southern Funera1 Home Chapel with the Rev. Shelby Hathorn officiating. Interment was at the Acona Cemetery.
Mr. Goudelock, 76, a World War I veteran was retired from the Corp of Engineer. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on September 5, 1895. He died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday August 20, only four hours after being rushed to the Holmes County Community Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith McRae Goudelock; four sons, Luther Alvie Jr.
of Tulsa, Okla., James Robert of Houston, Tex., William McRae of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Chester of St. Charles, Ark.; two brothers, Owen Goudelock of Baton Rouge, La., and James Goudelock of Cleveland, Miss.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Graves, Sr. of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. John F. Lock of State College Miss.
Pallbearers were Lorance Frost, Melvin Moore, Hugh Skinner, Vernon Hathcock, Will McWilliams, and Henry Forrest Fleming.

Obituary for William McRae Goudelock
William McRae (Mack) Goudelock, born July 21, 1930, to Luther Alvie and Edith McRae Goudelock, in Cruger, MS, passed away December 1, 2020.
After serving 26 years in the US Army, he retired and settled in Tulsa, OK. He met his wife, Betty, while fishing at Bixhoma Lake, and they have been married for almost 35 years.
Mack is survived by his wife, Betty; his children: Terri Kuykendall and husband John; Dinah Brabander and husband Jerry; Beverly McCarley and husband, Allen; William McRae Goudelock, Jr.; stepchildren: Jerry Goad, David Goad, and W.C. Goad; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mack and Betty had many years together, traveling and enjoying retirement. In later years, when they could no longer travel, he loved working in his yard and tending to his fish pond.
Mack was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and much loved by his family. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace grandpa.
Doris Elizabeth (Ball) Goudelock formerly of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on December 7, 2009 at Grace Living Center in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years 9 months and 4 days.
A private family memorial service will be set at a later date. Doris was born March 3, 1923 in Hattisburg, Mississippi to Richard Ball and Ruby (Hartzog) Ball.Doris for many years worked as an elementary school teacher.
She leaves behind her husband, Luther Alvie Goudelock of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two daughters, Glenda Mauldin and Rebecca Logsdon as well as many friends.

SUE COLLIER HERMAN
Sue Collier Goudelock Herman. 62, of McComb, a retired secretary for the Mississippi State Extension Service, died Monday, December 29 of cancer at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Services were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 31 at Catchings Funeral Home. Another service was at 3 p.m. at Bethsaida Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery in French Camp.
Mrs. Herman was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in McComb, the Bykota Circle and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include: husband, Donald; sons, Donald L. Herman Jr. of Monument, Colorado, and David Herman of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughters, Debra Tanksley of Kosciusko, Cheryl Goudelock of Magee and Melanie Lawrence of Meeker, Oklahoma; brothers, Arnold Collier and Hulon Collier, both of West Point and Wesley Collier of Ridgeland; sister, Betty Ballard of Thomastown; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services for Charlie Evelyn Goad McRae were held from the Southern
Funeral Home chapel in Lexington on Thursday. June 9 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev.
Wilson Ray officiating, Interment followed in Acona Cemetery,
Mrs. McRae, 75, died at her residence near Acona on Tuesday. June 7. She was a
homemaker, a member of Acona Methodist Church and a native of Armore, Oklahoma.
Survivors are two daughters, Kathleen Buck of Lexington and Evelyn Ainis of
Marlton, New Jersey: five grandchildren: and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob Peacock, Tony Peacock, Eddie Peacock, Jerry Peacock, Bryant
Parrish and Milton Parrish.

Funeral services for Kathleen McRae Buck, 62, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 1 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Rev. Stan Nowell officiated with interment in Acona Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Buck died Saturday, Dec. 30 at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. She had been a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Greenwood.
A native of Holmes County, she was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Sam (Butch) Buck, Jr., and Robert (Rusty) Buck, both of Greenwood; one sister, Evelyn Annis of Medford, New Jersey; and 6 grandchildren.
