Mrs. Harriett May Egger

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriett May Benjamin Egger, 78, of Meridian, were held in the Central United Methodist Church in Meridian on Sunday, May 2.

The Rev. John Case, officiating minister, was assisted by Rev. Robert Matheny. Interment followed in Acona Methodist Church cemetery in Holmes County. Mrs. Egger died at her residence on April 30.

Mrs. Egger, the wife of John F. Egger, Sr. of Meridian, is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis H. Watson and one son, Dr. John F. Egger, Jr., both of Jackson; one sister, Miss Katherine Benjamin of Meridian; one brother, John Robert Benjamin of Memphis; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Egger taught language and was also assistant librarian at Meridian High School. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the DAR, Northwood Garden Club and Bible Study Club. She was the daughter of the late Robert May Benjamin and Frances Buck McRae Benjamin.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the H.M. Ivy Sunday School Class.
