Lewis Jones was born in 1600.
Jones was a common Welch name. Family tradition says Lewis is from Wales. Over 50 families by the name of Jones were in New England before 1700.
He married Anna Stone, daughter of Simon Stone and Joan Clark, estimated 1638.¹
Lewis Jones immigrated to Roxbury, Massachusetts, in 1640 Resident of Roxbury after he arrived in New England in 1640. He joined the church at Roxbury in 1640 of which Rev. John Eliot was the pastor. He lived in "the Nookes" contiguous to Dorchester, not far from "Roxbury brook". On 23 Apr 1679 Lewis sold 3 acres of land, bounded with the farm land of Holden and "the great Fresh Pond surrounding the same" to Justinian Holden for 12 cords of wood.

The will mentions wife Anna, sons Shubael and Josiah, daughter Lydia Whitney. Son Josiah executor, friend and brother John Stone overseer.²

Thomas Denny was born on 19 March 1724/25 in Leicester, Massachusetts.

He was a Selectman 1765-66 and 1769-72; town clerk in 1772.
He became colonel of the militia.
On 11 October 1774 He was a member of the first Provincial Congress which met a Concord 11 Oct 1774. Soon after it began illness forced him to return home, where he died. 'He was regarded by the leading public men in Boston as a wise and patriotic counsellor. " This allows his descendants to claim membership in the DAR.²
Thomas Denny died on 23 October 1774 in Leicester, Massachusetts, at age 49.
