RUGGLES, Cedric H. -- Cedric H. RUGGLES, 77, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at home.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Methodist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. The body has been cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday. Cards and memorials to the family may be sent to 1902 Highway 34, Fairfield 52556.
Mr. RUGGLES was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Packwood, the son of Orville and Ruby B. HALE RUGGLES. He married Dixie BLAIR Nov. 13, 1951. Mr. RUGGLES graduated from Packwood High School. He was a farmer for 25 years and an auctioneer for 18 years. He was employed at American Chain & Cable. Mr. RUGGLES was a member of First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2271 and Fairfield Eagles Lodge No. 1927.
Survivors include his wife of Fairfield; three children, Allan RUGGLES and wife Carol of Burlington, Ellen WESTHOFF and husband Richard of Fairfield and Robert RUGGLES and wife Sarah of Macau, China; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eloise BAUMGARTNER of Sigourney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edrith GRIMES.

Ellen Westhoff age 66 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.
Ellen was born November 18, 1954, in Fairfield to Cedric and Dixie (Blair) Ruggles. Ellen married Richard Joseph Westhoff on October 6, 1973, in Packwood. This year they would have celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Ellen graduated from Pekin High School. She retired from Jefferson County Hospital after 40 years in Medical Records. Ellen loved being outside. Some of her hobbies were gardening, golfing, fishing and mushroom hunting. She enjoyed being a farm wife, was active in 4-H and looked forward to going to the Iowa State Fair each year. Ellen took in delight attending many high school events and volunteering for them. Above all else Ellen cherished her husband, two sons and was excited to welcome her 1st grandchild in October.
Ellen will be missed by her husband, Richard; two sons, Remington (Mallary) Westhoff of West Des Moines and Austin Westhoff of Urbandale; her mother, Dixie Ruggles of Fairfield; and two brothers, Alan and Bob Ruggles.
Ellen was preceded in death by her dad, Cedric Hale Ruggles.
Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Jefferson County 4-H Club or Fairfield High School Booster Club and mailed to Richard Westhoff, 1825 Pleasant Plain Road, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Dustin Blair Ruggles, 40, of Burlington died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at his home from complications of suffering from kidney failure, diabetes and asthma.
Born August 26, 1975 in Burlington, he was the son of Allan and Sharon Eloise (Warner) Ruggles.
He was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School. Before his health failed him he had been a car salesman for an auto dealership. Mr. Ruggles was of the Methodist faith. He was a "clean freak" and enjoyed hunting, golfing, and spending time with his children and family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandfathers.
