• He immigrated to Ipswich, Massachusetts, in 1635 from Norwich, Norfolk, England.

• In 1656 he was at Boxford, MA. where he purchased 200 acres of land of John Lambert of Rowley lying west of Pye Brook on which he built a house and fenced and improved part of this land. He also bought several other tracts of land in the village and in Topsfield. He bought a lot on Fish Brook from Zaccheus Gould. His first house was destroyed, probably by fire, and he built a second. At the time of his death he had planted 25 acres of corn. He was an extensive cultivator of the soil.
• He died on 29 May 1668 in Topsfield, Massachusetts, at age ~59.
• Inventory of his estate was taken Mentioned in the inventory of his estate were two muskets and a rest, a mare and a colt, 4 cows, 4 young cattle, 4 steers, sheep, lambs, a calf, 12 bushels of malt and "the new ship-saw, and other carpenter's tools."
