Torrey's record of John's first marriage shows him at Hadley; at his second marriage in 1678/1679, he was at Hatfield and Northampton; at his third marriage in 1696, Torrey shows him associated with Springfield, Hadley, Deerfield, Longmeadow and Wethersfield, CT.

Receipts were given 16 December 1692 by Robert Royce and Mary Royce formerly Porter daughter of Nathaniel of Stratford; by Ebenezer and Ruth Curtis, John Porter, Sarah Porter and Nathaniel Porter, the last-named of Fairfield. Receipts were exhibited at court 10 July 1696.¹
