Col. Coy L. Fisher, age 91, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died on Sunday, August 10, 2009 in Gulfport, Florida. He was born February 15, 1918 in Nashville, Arkansas, to Jack R. and Della Lee Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira C. and Della Tucker and his wife of 57 years, Veneca M. Fisher.
He is survived by one son, Scott Fisher, Sr. and his wife Gini of Gulfport, Florida, one grandson, Air Force Captain Scott Fisher, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, and his wife Phyllis of Hot Springs Village and one step-granddaughter, Rita Kay Rogers of Benton, Arkansas.
He served a distinguished career in the U.S. Army Air Corp. and U.S. Air Force during World War II, the Korean conflict, the Cold War, and the Vietnam War, retiring in 1967 as an Air Force Colonel. Colonel Fisher was issued numerous citations and awards for his achievements and dedication to the service. After his retirement, Colonel Fisher continued his career as an insurance executive, Real Estate Broker, and custom home builder in Georgia, Arkansas and Florida.
A private family graveside service, with full military honors was performed by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant at the gravesite in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas, on Friday, August 14, 2009.
