HUNT, Waller S., Jr., 70, of Charlottesville, died after a long battle with cancer on October 29, 1999, in a Charlottesville hospital. He was born and raised in Roanoke, and graduated from William Byrd High School in 1948. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Virginia in 1958. He retired from the University of Virginia as the University's Architect. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waller and Sarah Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Ella "Em" Hunt of the home; a son and his wife, Waller S. Hunt III, and Elizabeth Hunt of Goldsboro, N.C.; three grandchildren, Sarah Hunt, Amy Hunt, and Thomas Hunt, all of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Rita David of Vinton; his nieces, Jacqueline Proffit of Charlotte, N.C., and Martha Warring and her husband, Robert Warring of Scottsville; a nephew, John David of Charlotte, N.C.; additionally, he is survived by grand-nieces and a grand-nephew, Ashley Proffit of Chapel Hill, N.C., Amanda Proffit, Nicole David of Charlotte, N.C., Kelly and Christopher Warring of Scottsville; and lastly, his beloved Model T Ford, "Magnolia." A private graveside service and burial was conducted at Evergreen Memorial Park in Roanoke.
Boisean Dies In Accident On Utah Job
LITTLE VALLEY, Utah — A 20-year-old Boise, Idaho, construction worker was killed near here Thursday night when a truck backed over him.
Fatally injured was Virgil Arthur Winn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil G. Winn at 415 Liberty road, Boise. The young Boise man was employed by Morrison-Knudsen company on the shore of the Great Salt Lake. The firm is building a fill for the Union Pacific railroad across the lake.
Project Manager Guy Reid said Winn was killed instantly in the accident at a rock quarry. Reid declined to name the driver of the truck involved, Winn was a Brigham Young university student doing summer work.
Mr. Winn was born July 31, 1937, in Boise. He was graduated from Boise High school in June of 1954, attended Boise Junior college during the 1954- 53 school year and then entered Brigham Young university at Provo, Utah. He was a member of the LDS church and the U. S. Naval reserve.
He is survived, in addition to his parents, by three sisters, Suzann, DeLano and Cindy, all or Boise, and a brother, Clayton, also of Boise; his grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Arthur of Boise, and his grandfather, George W. Winn of Preston.
Services will be announced by the Relyea chapel.
