Obituary from "The Caledonian-Record," St. Johnsbury, Vt., dated Tuesday, April 8, 1930, page 8:
"Charles O. Blake Dies At Age of 68 Years
Charles O. Blake, of St. Johnsbury Center died Monday at the St. Johnsbury Hospital at the age of 68 years. Mr. Blake had been ill for several years, but was able to be about his home until one week ago when he was removed to the hospital.
Born at Eden, in 1862, Mr. Blake went to Worcester, Mass., at an early age where he became a contractor and builder, working in this trade in Worcester for 35 years. He returned to St. Johnsbury 18 years ago where he has since lived and worked until failing health forced him to retire.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Abbie Blake, survivors include one brother, James Blake, of Worcester, Mass., one sister, Mrs. Kate Souther, of Worcester, Mass., four daughters by a former marriage; Mrs. Molly Waite, of Bridgewater, Mrs. Mildred Moran, of Claremont, N.H., Mrs. Myrtle Moran, of St. Johnsbury and Mrs. Marie Church, of St. Johnsbury, and two nephews, Charles Parkhurst and James Parkhurst, both of St. Johnsbury. Burial will be at Danville."
