Thomas Betts was baptized on 3 December 1615 in West Peckham, Kent, England.^1,2
Tradition says he came from Smithfield thru one of the outlaying villages of London.
He immigrated to America in 1639 at the age of 21 and became a founder of GUilford, CT. He was fined 9 Oct 1645 for neglect of his fence. 4 Oct 1657 Thomas sold his outlands to Henry Kingsworth.
Thomas married Mary Raymond in 1643 in Norwalk, Connecticut.³
Between 1657 and 1660 Thomas and Mary lived in Milford, Connecticut.
He purchased home lots from Nathaniel, Eli and Ralph Keeler in Norwalk in 1660. He was made freeman 13 Oct 1664.
Thomas was admitted freeman in 1669.⁴
He died between 10 May 1688 and 4 December 1688 in Norwalk, Connecticut.⁵
