Nicholas Felch was born on 12 June 1755.¹
Nicholas Felch was a farmer and also a soldier in the Revolution. Nicholas was a soldier at the Battle of Bennington under the command of General Stark, where, tradition says, he performed good service; being in what was an untenable position in his opinion.. He took shelter behind a huge pine stump, from which he retreated not, until he had exhausted the contents of his bandoleers and powder horn. His gait, unlike the martial tread of the soldier, was the light and rapid step of a huntsman, and he was formidable antagonist as opposed to the Hessian and the Red Man. He was by trade a cooper, but attended mostly to the business of farming, fishing, and fowling.²
He married Sarah Grove on 16 December 1779 in Seabrook, New Hampshire.^1,2
He died on 13 April 1840 in Seabrook, New Hampshire, at age 84.¹
He was buried in Smithtown Cemetery, Seabrook, New Hampshire.¹
