Gladys Forbes Piatt 1921-2016
Gladys Forbes Piatt, 94, passed away on April 19th at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola Florida. She is survived by her sons Richard Piatt (Malou) and Douglas Piatt (Elizabeth); granddaughters Crystalyn Hyatt (Alvin) and Carolyn Rice (Bryan); grandson Spencer Piatt; great grandsons Zachary and Noah Hyatt; and several other extended family and friends.Gladys was married to the late Roger Piatt for 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Forbes, and her brother, Wilbur Forbes (Dorothy). Gladys spent her early years in New Jersey and developed her love for ballet and tap dance. After meeting and marrying Roger, they moved to Sarasota, Florida to raise their family. Gladys dedicated many of her years working at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and continued to volunteer there after her retirement. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Lillian, Alabama and later to Pensacola, Florida to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She often spoke of her adventures, many of which were accompanied by her late best friend, Jeanne Krause.Gladys' kindness and generosity touched so many. She will be remembered for her nurturing heart and the graceful manner in which she lived her life.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who have assisted in Gladys' care these last few months, including TJ Meyer.

Beloved wife of Albert. Loving mother of Michelle Dvorsky and her husband Scott, Keith Lamoureux, and Nicole Pelliccia and her husband Michael. Cherished grandmother of Sienna, Kevin, Natalie and Kyle. Devoted sister of Ruth Meissner and her husband William, and Joyce Loin.

Reposing at the O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Rt. 25A, Miller Place, L.I. Visitation Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Service Friday 12:30 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
