Son of Luton Harvey Hyde and Ethel Basford. He married Alma Doreen Amon 17 Dec 1942 in Mercer County, PA. They had one child, Sheryl.
Robert Harvey Hyde, M.D, age 84 of Jackson, MS. Formerly of 604 Shelby Ave, Cheswick, PA and Salem Twp. passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home, Jackson, Ms. He was born on December 21, 1923 in Sharon, PA. a son of the late Luton Harvey and Ethel (Basford) Hyde. He was a 1941 graduate of the former Penn High School, in 1949 he graduated from Slippery Rock College.
He then went onto study Physical Therapy at Herman Hospital in Houston, Tx and subsequently obtained his medical degree from University of Louisville in 1963. He was instrumental in starting the Physical Therapy Department at the former Greenville Hospital He had been a General Practitioner in Eddyville, KY. He was Chief of staff for Student Health Services of Louisiana State University, and had been a General Practitioner in Baker, Louisiana. He retired from his medical career at the age of 75.
He had served as the Mayor of Eddyville, KY and also had been a member and officer of the Lyon County Lions Club and a member and board member of the Eddyville United Methodist Church. He was a W.W. II veteran having served with the U.S. Army as a paratrooper assigned to Headquarters Company 3rd battalion, 511th Parachute Infantry 11th Airborne Division. He most recently was a member of the St. Marks Lutheran Church, Springdale, PA.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry Neverez of Mesa Arizonia, a son John Charles Hyde and his wife Patti of Jackson, MS, 3 sisters; Ethel Minich of Emlenton, Jean Alexander and her husband Elton of Stoneboro and Joan Young of Miamisburg, Ohio, 1 brother George Hyde of Hadley. A friend - Janet Calvert of Cheswick, PA . 7 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Pamela Hernandez, 3 brothers; James Hyde, William Hyde and John Hyde and two sisters; Mary McDowell and Margaret Scrivens.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home, Ltd. 3223 Perry Hwy, Sheakleyville with Rev. Gary F. Coch, pastor of the St. Marks Lutheran Church, Springdale, PA. officiating. The interment will follow at the Stevenson Cemetery, Salem Twp. with Military honors accorded by the Greenville VFW Post # 3374. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9:00 pm. Charles Levi Donnell, 46, of Salem Township, died of a heart attack this morning, July 31, 1957, at his home.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralston Donnell, he was born Aug. 10, 1910, in Salem Township. He was a member of Sheakleyville IOOF Lodge, the Moose and Elks Lodges of Greenville, and the Kennard Grange.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Hyde; five children, Ralston, Benjamin, Samuel, William and Patricia, all at home; a brother Marcus, of Minnesota, and six sisters, Mrs. Ada Canon, af Ashtabula, Mrs. Melissa Beardsley, of Cleveland, and Mrs. Mary Loper, Mrs. Katherine Aug, Mrs. Jane see and Mrs. Martha Leslie, all of Hadley.
