There is a strong possibility Mary was actually Mary Lapham, daughter of Thomas Lapham and Mary Tilden (who, after husband Tomas died married William Bassett, Joseph's father). This would make Thomas and Mary step-brother and step-sister.1
He married Martha Hobart on 16 October 1677 in Hingham, Massachusetts.1
He died in 1713 at age ~81.

William served in the Pequot War. He was an officer in Miles Standish's militia.2
In 1638 William and Elizabeth moved to Duxbury, Massachusetts, with their family.6
He was a man of property, rated one of the highest on the tax list. One of the original 54 proprietors of the plantation granted to the town of Duxbury (Bridgewater). Each settler had a grant of a house lot of 6 acres. Incorporated as Bridgewater in 1656. He became a large land holder and is said to have had the largest library owned by any of the Pilgrims. Volunteer in the war against the Pequots in 1637. He was a member of Captain Miles Standish's Military Company in 1643. (from a scholarly work, called "from Bridgewater and Plymouth".)1
William held many community offices, such as coroner's jury, Plymouth grand jury, deputy to the Plymouth court, committee to lay out land, etc. For several years he and Miles Standish were alternately deputies of the town to the General Court. He died in 1667 in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, at age ~67.1
