Harvey C. Chesser, 81, of Galesburg, died at 10:09 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Marigold Health Care Center.
He was born March 23, 1937, in Galesburg, the son of Lenard E. “Jim” and Nellie Rosetta (Sargeant) Chesser. He married Elsie M. Smith on December 28, 1987 in Dakota City, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on February 13, 1991.
He is survived by two brothers, George (Marilyn) Chesser of Wyoming, Illinois and Harry Chesser of Toulon, Illinois; three sisters, Yvette Kemp of Galesburg, Norma Williams of Toulon, and Bonnie Delabar of Toulon; four nephews; and six nieces. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Harvey worked at Maytag for 30 years, mainly in the paint department. He enjoyed watching old westerns on VHS, and later DVD.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Wataga Cemetery with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the family. Keith William Ferre, 57, of 1142 Illinois Ave, died Nov 18 1979 in Salt Lake City.
Born Feb 22 1922 to William Samuel and Vivian Corbett Ferre. Married Rowena Long. She died in 1973. Married Norma Hendrickson Parks Sep 12 1975, Elka NV. He was a diesel mechanic for the IML Freight Lines, Inc. Veteran WW II. Member LDS Church.
Survivors: wife Salt Lake City; two sons, three daughters. Keith Steven Ferre, North Little Rock AK; Lawrence David Ferre, Sandy; Geraldine Warden, Fall River MA, Mrs John (Charlene) Napier, Salt Lake City; Mrs Patricia Jones, North Little Rock AK; eight grandchildren; stepson Ed Dunn; Stepdaughter Connie Bishop, both of Orem; two stepgrandchildren; brother William Ferre, Butte MT; sister Vivian Ellingsworth, West Jordan.
