LOGAN - Charles Homer Dunn, 85, died of heart failure on November 11, 2006. Charles was born January 12, 1921 in Brigham City, Utah a son of James Thomas and Elizabeth Clarinda Davis Dunn. He married Cleo Norman on July 20, 1946. Homer and Cleo were sealed for time and eternity in the Ogden Temple on April 21, 1978. They were the parents of six children, Kristine, Terry, David, Leslie, Jim and Cory.
In June of 1981 he married Margaret Ann Clark. They were later divorced, but remained close friends right up to the time of his death.
Homer served in the Navy during WWII. He was stationed in the Philippines. Dad was very proud of his military service and we feel it very appropriate that he passed away on Veterans Day. Many of the life experiences he recalled in the recent years were of his service for his country and the men and women he served with.
Homer worked as an accountant. He enjoyed sports and was an avid bowler for a good portion of his life. He was an enthusiastic Jazz and BYU fan.
Surviving are his children; Kristine Dunn, Terry Nelson, David (Claudia) Dunn, Leslie (Chris) Fisher, James (Nancy) Dunn, and Cory Dunn. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Dunn and Dale Dunn. He was the grandfather of 26 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cleo, two brothers, Darwin and Allan, two sisters, Marian and June, and a grandson, Jeremy.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 17, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City. The family will meet friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
Allan Dunn, 70, passed away September 23, 2005 at his home.
Allan was born August 6, 1935 in Twin Falls, Idaho, a son of James Thomas and Elizabeth Clarinda Davis Dunn.
In 1959 he married Sherall Young. They brought two children into this world. They were later divorced. In the late ‘60's he met and formed a wonderful friendship with Kathryn (Kim) Kearney. After many attempts, and traveling pots and pans, they were united in matrimony in 1998.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
In the mid ‘80's he moved to Swan Valley to fulfill his lifelong dream of owning his own outfitting business, Mountain Stream Outfitters. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed helping others learn the sport.
Allan was an avid sports fan. He loved his Notre Dame football team. In his early days he enjoyed racing cars and skydiving. But more than anything, he especially loved his family, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kim and his two children, Scott (Debbie) Hansen of Plain City and Denise Cousler of North Ogden. He is also survived by three step-daughters, Vickie, Erin and Kris; grandchildren, Nicole, Carissa, Tyler, Madison, Erica, Parker, Kennedee, Kaycee, Brandee, Jesse, Mindy and McKenna; and three brothers, Robert Dunn of Texas.
Terry L. Dunn -Nelson, born December 23, 1949 in Brigham City, Utah to Charles Homer Dunn and Cleo Norman Dunn. She was raised in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1968 and Weber State University in 1998.
She married Gary Ray Nelson in Brigham City on December 12, 1969; they later divorced but remained friends.
Terry is survived by her sons Trevor (Chrissy) Nelson and T.J. Nelson; siblings Kristine Dunn; David (Claudia) Dunn, Leslie (Chris) Fisher, Jim (Nancy) Dunn and Cory Dunn; she was blessed with 2 grandchildren Chance and Ashlynn. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Jeremy.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Bear River Ward Bldg., 5870 N. 4700 W., Bear River City. Viewings will be held at the church on Tuesday December 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. Interment, Bear River City Cemetery.
