Frank was born 2 Aug 1881 in Crosslee/Houston, Renfrewshire, Scotland to Owen John and Margaret (Timony) McCafferty. He was one of seven children brought up in a farming community and later apprenticed to a stone mason.
Frank was keen football player and was presented with farewell gifts by St Fillans football club, Renfrewshire, Scotland when he emigrated the the US in 1907.
Shortly after arriving in Boston on May 28, 1907 he worked his way to Colorado. He obtained US Citizenship on November 12, 1908.
He worked on many Federal buildings and monuments around the country, including the Larimer County Courthouse and Statue of Liberty.
While working on the 'old' Post Office in Fort Collins, he fell in love with a young girl walking from her house to the High School (now Linclon Center). They married and traveled the country for his work. His last project was the Larimer County Court House so they settled on a farm where they raised crops, sheep and cattle outside of Fort Collins (Hwy 14 and County Road 3) near Ethel's parents, John and Julia Tuttle.
Frank was a wonderful father to his children. He and Ethel had four sons; John, Frankie (who died young when kicked by a horse),Robert and James. They also had a daughter who died at birth in 1918.
Roy Gilbert Tuttle Jr. was born to Roy and Lura Forsythe Tuttle on June 29, 1917. His parents and sister, Louise, died in the flu epidemic of 1918 leaving Roy as a baby to live with his mother's parents, Henry and Sarah Forsythe. His sister, Edith, was taken in my his father's family, John and Julia Tuttle.
Roy Lived in Carr Colorado until the death of his grandfather in 1923. His grandmother took him to live in Cheyenne where he grew up and went to school. His grandmother died in 1935 and Roy boarded with the Kaufholtz family and was an attendant at a filling station.
Roy met and married the English born Sybil Walley on October 12, 1940 in Kimball, Nebraska. They had two children, Phyllis and Tom. The family moved to California and Sybil died there in 1960.
Roy married Ester Wipple in 1961. She had two daughters by a previous marriage, Dixie and Bonnie.
Phyllis married Robert Houston and had 2 daughters, Judy and Patty. They were members of the Jim Jones Peoples Temple that went to Guyana, South America. Phyllis and the girls died there Nov. 18, 1983.
Roy died March 5, 2000 in Mukelumne Hill, California. He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, three grandsons and a granddaughter as well as two step-daughters.
