Wesley "Wes Albert Ricker, 65, of 24 Guild St., Enfield died on Monday, May 8, 2006 at the Bay-state Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. His beloved wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Ann "Liz (Kramer) Ricker predeceased him on February 19, 2004.
Wesley was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on July 31, 1940 at 10:45 p.m., a son of Dorothy (Elliott) Ricker of Leominster and the late Thornton Ricker.
He moved to the Enfield community in 1964. He attended George St. School, May A. Gallagher Junior High School and graduated from the Leominster High School in 1958. During his high school years he worked at Chase Photography and did much of the photography for the high school yearbooks. He also worked at the Nu-Plastic Corporation and was a Past Master Councilor of the Leominster Chapter of the Order of Demolay. Wes later attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a year before attending Lowell Technical Institute, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1963.
During his college career, he was a summer employee of E. I. DuPont in Leominster. Wes later worked for the Albi Manufacturing Co., Phillips Medical Systems and Bio-Plexus in Vernon. He retired from the Digital Equipment Corp. in Springfield as a Supervisor of Quality Engineering. Wes enjoyed photography and was an avid outdoorsman who also enjoyed hiking, camping, sailing, boating, fishing, and the shooting sports. Wes and his late wife, Liz, had traveled and camped in many areas of the United States and Canada. He was a Past President of the Pine Meadow Photographers, a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, Life Member of the National Wildlife Federation, and a member of the East Windsor Sportsmans Club.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Wes family has suggested that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of memorial donations to the East Windsor Sportsmans Club, POB 443, East Windsor, Connecticut 06016 or the NRA, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.
Sam Warner, son of Harry C. and Mary Jane Brill Warner, was born May 11, 1904 near Bentonsport and departed this life Thursday, July 10, 1980 at the age of 76. He was dead on arrival at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua following a heart attack at his home north of Bentonsport.
He married Elaine Cummings who remains to cherish his memory with their son, Sam, Jr. at home. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank of Bentonsport and Neil of West Point, other relatives and friends. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Sam was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Beer-Barker Post No. 113, American Legion at Keosauqua and Bonaparte Lodge No. 22, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. In his earlier life he was a baseball player and team manager and throughout his life was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and friend.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 14, 1980 at 2 p.m. In the Bonaparte Cemetery with Rev. Paul Knupp officiating. Odd Fellows rites were in charge of Bonaparte Lodge and military rites were by Beer-Barker Post. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for the heart fund.
Elaine Warner, daughter of Arthur and Juanita Clark Cummings, was born July 10, 1918 in Bonaparte and departed this life the afternoon of Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 73. She married Sam Warner who died July 10, 1980.
She graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1935, had worked at Sheaffer Pen Co., Ft. Madison and Fairfield Glove Co., Bonaparte and was a homemaker.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, Sam of the home farm on Route 2, Keosauqua, two sister, Gladys Troutman, Bonaparte and Helen Selters, West Point, other relatives and friends. Her twin sister, Eloise preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 1992 at 10:30 a.m. At Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Tim Snart officiating.
Interment was in Bonaparte Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.

Lura Christine Hines, 74, of Creighton, Missouri, was born July 5, 1944, the daughter of Robert Parker and Edith Tuttle Parker in Raton, New Mexico. She departed this life peacefully at home on Thursday, March 14, 2019.
Chris graduated from Laramie High School in Laramie, Wyoming in 1962. She then attended the University of Wyoming for a year. On May 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to Elmer Hines in Laramie. They lived in Foxpark, Wyoming until April 1966 when they moved to Creighton. Chris and Elmer became parents in November 1966 when Lura LeAnne was born. Their second daughter, Lisa Annette, was born in December 1969.
In 1976 Chris decided to return to college and enrolled in Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education in May 1979 and her Masters in Special Education in 1984. Mrs. Hines taught 5th grade all but two years of her 25 years at McEowen Elementary in Harrisonville, Missouri. After her retirement in 2004, she was a substitute teacher for the Sherwood Schools until 2014. Chris truly enjoyed her work as an educator. She made learning fun and instilled in her students the importance getting an education.
Chris was a social person and could strike up a conversation with anyone.She loved to read and shared that passion by giving books to and reading with the young people in her life. Chris’ most cherished role was being Gram to her granddaughters. She treasured time spent with Jordan and Melaina and was so proud of them and their accomplishments.
Chris spent many years on the Creighton City Council, was an officer of the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Association, a member of the Creighton Community of Care and the local Red Hats club. She had a firm faith in God and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Creighton.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Salmon on March 1, 2013.
Chris is survived by her husband of 55 years, Elmer Hines: daughter, LeAnne Salmon and husband Terry of Creighton: two granddaughters, Jordan Lee Salmon of Overland Park, Kansas, and Melaina Christine Salmon of Creighton: a brother, Robert “Bob” Parker and wife Shirley of Prosser, Washington: several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Care Hospice or the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Association.
