Mrs. VanDeusen Rites Wednesday
Serves for Mrs. Paul (Eva) VanDeusen, 74, Harbor Springs, who died yesterday at Lockwood MacDonald Hospital following a long Illness, was held at the United Methodist Church Wednesday with Rev. Phillip Howe officiating. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery.
The former Eva Burdett was born July 9, 1894 in Harbor Springs and married Paul E. VanDeusen on October 23, 1918 in Detroit
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Woman’s Society of Christian Service, Emmet Rebekah's 104 and the past Noble Grand Club
Surviving besides her husband, are a son, Paul E. VanDeusen Jr. of Grand Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Kathryn) Reyner, Harbor Springs and Mrs. Duane (Pauline) Hosler, Mrs. Edgar (Thelma) Sowles, and Mrs. Arthur (Madalon) Keith, all of Flint; two brothers, Robert Burdett of Ypsilanti and
Kenneth Burdett, of Houston, Texas; a sister Mrs. Bertha Kindtg, Ypsilanti; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Paul VanDeusen, 85, of Harbor Springs, were held Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Harbor Springs. Rev. Milton Ten Have officiated and interment was in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mr. VanDeusen died October 31 at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility.
He was born April 27, 1893, in Hinckley, Ohio and moved to the 'Harbor Springs area when he was two years old. Mr. VanDeusen attended the Parson Business College in Kalamazoo.
He was a member of Petoskey I.O.O.F. Lodge no. 282.
Mr. VanDeusen was an electrician in the Harbor Springs area, retiring in 1965.
Survivor include his wife Bessie; one son, Paul VanDeusen Jr., of Grand Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathryn) Jensen of Harbor Springs,
Mrs. Duane (Pauline) Hosler, Mrs. Edgar (Thelma) Sowles, and Mrs. Arthur (Madalon) Keith, all of Flint; a sister Mrs. Bertha Kindtg, Ypsilanti; and 16 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Buckmaster of Detroit.
Kathryn K. Jensen, 82, of Harbor Springs, died May 10, 2002, at
her home.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, May 15, at the United Methodist Church of Harbor Springs. Pastor Larry Wood officiated and interment was in Lakeview Cemetery.
Kathryn was born July 23, 1919, in Detroit, the daughter of Paul and Eva (Burdette) VanDeusen. She graduated from Harbor Springs High School in 1937.
She married Charles Reyner Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1974.
Kathryn worked for ASCS in Petoskey for many years and had also worked as a bank teller for the Emmet County State Bank in Harbor Springs for many years.
In 1977, she married Robert Jensen and the couple made their home in Harbor Springs.
Kathryn was a member of the Emmet Rebekahs and was a past noble grand. She held several offices in the American Legion Auxiliary, was a past conductor of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, past president of the Wesleyan Club, was a very active member of the United Methodist Church and Women's Society, past president of the Bay View Reading Club, and was a member of the Volunteers Club. Kathryn taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.
She enjoyed attending the Kiwanis travelogues. She and her husband have visited all 50 states, many European countries and the provinces of Canada. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, camping, cooking, crocheting, knitting and numerous other activities.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Charles Reyner and his wife, Yuko, of Harbor Springs, Julie Chapman and her husband, Gary, of Battle Creek, Janice Williams of Caseville, and daughter-in-law, Lavaun Tumminelo, Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Laura, Tyler, Melissa, Brian, Casey, Cohn, Drew, Mitchell and Sakura; a step-grandchild, Rob Jensen; and two great-grandchildren, Carly and Cameron; three sisters, Pauline Hosler, Thelma Sowles, Madelon Keith; and a brother, Paul Van Deusen. She was preceded in death by a son, David Reyner, and stepson, William Jensen.
