Eliza DeForest Downer was born on 10 April 1852 in New York.^1,2
She appeared in a family photo that was taken about 1868 top row, 1st on left - age 16.³

She appeared on the 1870 US Federal Census of Hamden, New Haven County, Connecticut, enumerated on 12 July 1870, in the household of her parents Samuel Robinson Downer and Charlotte.²
Eliza DeForest Downer appeared in a family photo estimated 1875 with her sisters.⁴

She was buried in Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven, Connecticut.⁶
