An obituary was published in Republican Journal, Maine, on 13 September 2006

Burnham — James Braley, 61, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at his home in Burnham. He was born Dec. 14, 1944, in Burnham, the son of Wendell and the late Beulah M. (Ingersol) Braley.

Jim was educated in Burnham schools. He was employed at a variety of jobs over the years, including working in the woods and raking blueberries. He was a Yankees fan and also enjoyed NASCAR. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Newport. Jim loved the outdoors and enjoyed living in his cabin in the woods. He wasn't much into modern day living, and enjoyed sitting by the campfire. Jim loved spending time with his family, and he just loved to make people laugh.

Jim was predeceased by his mother, Beulah M. Braley, and his nephew, Douglas A. Rich.

He is survived by his father, Wendell B. Braley Sr.; his brothers, Wendell Jr. "Wink" and his wife, Cheryl; Matthew and his wife, Ellen; Jonathan, Jody and his wife, Debbie; and Timmy and his companion, Heather; sisters Elaine Burt and her husband, Lloyd; Jane Peterson and Mary L. Patterson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Reynolds Cemetery in Burnham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Elaine M. Burt, 494 Winnecook Road, Burnham, ME 04922. Arrangements are with Lawry Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 107 Main St., Fairfield, ME; (800) 660-2111. (Republican Journal 9/13/2006.)
