Margaret Ann Lyons Linley, age 67, wife of the late Howard A. Linley, previously of Trumbull, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Carolton Health Care Center, Fairfield. Born in Scranton, Pa., May 24,1940, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Knittle Lyons, Peggy was a lifelong area resident. She was the head of human resources and payroll department at Newtown Savings Bank and an instructor for the American Banking Institute.
Survivors include her son, Michael Girard of Devon; two sisters, Mary Alice Bardsley and her husband, George and Fran DeVack; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Lyons and Sharon Lyons; one grandson, Jon-Paul Girard; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, John and Thomas Lyons.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Nichols Farm Burial Ground, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Barbara Hall Curtiss Crandon of Jennersville, PA, died on February 25, 2011. She was 93.
Barbara was the daughter of Elliott Plumb Curtiss and Ruth Brown Curtiss of Nichols, CT. She graduated from Mt. Holyoke College, attended graduate school at Harvard University and then taught at Perkins Institute for the Blind in Boston, where she met her future husband, Philip Howland Crandon, Sr. While raising her family in Nichols, Barbara served on countless community boards and was an avid golfer and bridge player.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Philip and her sister, Sally Brown Curtiss Gunn. She is survived by her son, Philip Howland Crandon, Jr. of Palenville, NY; daughter, Ruth Curtiss Crandon Clark of Chadds Ford, PA; her grandson, Christian Crandon of Charleston, SC; and loving nieces and nephews.
The Crandon family especially wishes to thank the staff of Ruston Residence and Willow Tree Hospice for their remarkable kindness and caring.
Services will be conducted in Connecticut.

Philip Howland Crandon, Sr. age 90, of Jennersville, PA and formerly of Nichols, CT died at Jenner's Pond on Monday March 30, 2009.
Phil received his business degree from The Oxford School, Cambridge, Massachusetts and served as a Captain in Army Intelligence in WWII. He was president of Curtiss & Crandon Real Estate and Curtiss, Crandon and Moffett Insurance in Trumbull, CT. Phil was a Mayflower descendant and a member of the Brigade of the American Revolution. He was an avid historian, gardener and model railroader. In Nichols, CT, he served on countless community boards including the Nichols Improvement Association and the Nichols United Methodist Church. Upon moving to Delaware, Phil volunteered at Hagley Museum where he leaves a legacy of primula which he planted.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, John Howland Crandon and sister, Evelyn Farnsworth. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Curtiss Crandon of Jennersville; son, Philip Howland Crandon, Jr. of Palenville, NY; daughter, Ruth Curtiss Crandon Clark of Chadds Ford, PA; grandson, Christian Crandon of Charleston, SC and loving nieces and nephews.
