She worked for Congressman John 'Jack' Flynt of Griffin GA, who represented Georgia's then 6th District in Congress. Flynt was a Democratic congressman for 25 years, succeeded by Newt Gingrich (!)^3,1
She died on 9 November 2017 in Aldie, Virginia, at age 71.¹
She was buried in First Union African Baptist Church Cemetery, Daufuskie Landing, South Carolina.¹

An obituary was published

HAIG POINT, DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. – Rebecca Parrot Flask, 71, a resident of Haig Point, Daufuskie Island, S.C., and Haymarket, Va., passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2017, at the Capital Caring Adler Center in Aldie, Va.

Rebecca was born on Nov. 26, 1945, in Newnan, Ga., to Ann Glover Parrott and Thomas Sargent Parrott Jr., both of whom have predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Thomas Sargent Parrott, III.

Rebecca, who was called “Becky” or “Becky Knight,” was raised in Newnan, where she enjoyed warm summers, swimming in the pool or nearby lakes, horseback riding, tennis, summer camps and the joy of living in a relatively small idyllic community, a place she always loved and considered home.

Following graduation from Newnan High School, she entered and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. Becky worked in Atlanta for several years until she moved to Washington, D.C., to join the staff of Congressman John “Jack” Flynt Jr. of Griffin, who represented Georgia’s then 6th District in Congress. It was in Washington that she met Jon Flask, who would become her husband of 45 years.

Following the birth of their child, Becky became a stay-at-home mom whose time was spent raising Ansley, reading and traveling. She continued as an avid tennis player who played at Springfield G&CC, then the Country Club of Fairfax, the Fairfax Racquet Club and finally the Haig Point Club on Daufuskie Island until her health prevented her from continuing.

She is survived by her husband and daughter Ansley Flask French (Eric) and grandchildren Layla and Dylan.

Following a memorial service at the First Union African Baptist Church on Daufuskie Island, commencing at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 1, 2017, she will be interred in its cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation, P.O. Box 52, 44 Old Haig Point Road, Daufuskie Island, SC 29915.
