Biography

Grace Todd was baptized on 15 December 1650 in New Haven, Connecticut.
At about age 13 she was brought before the court and sentenced to be 'whipt for some improprieties of conduct'.¹
She married Richard Mattock on 2 March 1668/69.
Although Grace was married, she seemed to have been mentally deficient, and was soon deserted by Richard. Her father left special provisions for her in his will, being 'incompetent to take care of her self or any estate'.¹

He married Mary Upson, daughter of Stephen Upson and Mary Lee, estimated 1707 Richard and Mary were first cousins.¹
Richard Welton died in 1755 at age ~75.
