The funeral of Matthew Bird was held from St. Mary's Church this morning. Rev. Daniel Mahony conducted the services. The bearers were Harry Osborne, J E Smith, Frank Marr, William Baldwin, Daniel Dalton, David Donovan and Henry Wilmore.10

Story

While living in Prague at times Dave would get a permission to travel to various places for medical conferences. One time in 1965 he got a visa for his whole family to travel to Germany. Everyone packed bags just as though they were going on a normal trip, leaving most of theit belongings behind. And they never returned.
